Alpe Cimbra is one of the most extensive alpine pastures in Europe, characterised by soft unspoilt landscapes, vast wooded expanses and gentle slopes.

History and ancient traditions
The great Austrian forts, known as 'The 7 Fortresses of the Emperor', which have now been restored and host themed exhibitions, certainly do not go unnoticed. Among the most famous forts are Fort Cherle, Fort Sommo Alto, Belvedere Gschwent and Fort Dosso delle Somme, but also the more recent Base Tuono, a former NATO missile base. In addition to the forts, it is not difficult to encounter other remains left over from the Great War, such as trenches, along the trail.
The pastures of the Alpe are then dotted with malghe (shepherd's huts) where delicious local cheeses are produced; in many of them, during the summer, it is possible to have lunch while enjoying typical Trentino dishes.
